Paid Off 3 Debts in June!
I never dreamed I could save $1,000 in a couple of months, and I really never dreamed I could pay so much off in such a short period of time, but I knocked out the last two debts over the last 7 days, and the first one was gone three weeks ago. I forgot to add it since I paid it off before it ever hit my debt snowball page.
I’ve paid off $2176:
Eatel Advertising: $346 - DEAD!
Allen, Maxwell & Silver $1,200 - GONE!
AdvisorSites $630 - 6 FEET UNDER!
I’ve been paying on AM&S since the fall, but knocked half of it out since end of April.
The next one in line is at&t advertising with a balance of $1,618.46. They will continue to charge me a $13 late payment fee every month. That comes to an interest rate of 9.7% APR. The fee will be reduced as my outstanding balance goes down. It went up proportionately to the amount my balance was growing. I also won’t have an ad in the Sept. 2007 Real Yellow Pages. Oh well. I still have my ad in the Eatel Sunshine pages, and that book has a much bigger distribution than the at&t book. If I do go back into the at&t yellow pages it will only be the business name and number. I won’t pay their outrageous prices for an ad again.
My current total balance is $158,997. It goes up several hundred dollars a month because of continuing high interest charges on the highest debts. But I’ve decide I’m not spending anymore time or energy stressing over it. I can’t change it, so I might as well put my energy into earning more money so I can reduce the number of months they can continue to hit me with more interest charges. My focus is now on at&t advertising and that’s where it will stay, except the one day per month that I must print out the letters and spreadsheets, and write the checks to make the pro rata payments to those debt collectors. I can hope they will eventually reduce or eliminate interest charges, but I’m not counting on it or concerning myself with it any longer.
